 I see mention that the 2.0 beta testing has begun, but I do not see a download or a working 2.0 branch.  If I wnated to do some testing how do I go about it?

Hello,

Currently the 2.0 sources are only available to the SP project teammembers to work on. We expect to go public soon (one or two weeks) with a first beta version for anyone to try and test. The sources will become available through the Codeplex site at http://survey.codeplex.com.

We would welcome your feedback and testresults. You can register issues and testresults at the codeplex site also.

That sounds great.  If you need a team member to do testing and fix minor bugs, I would be glad to join.

I do have an aditional question, and that is will 2.0 be database compatible with 1.2.X?

P.S.  Thanks for sharing all of your hard work.  Using survey beats the heck out of some of the less configurable options I have run into out there!

Hi,

Thanks for offering your support. We will keep you posted on the new releases.

Concerning the compatibiliy of v.2.0. There will be no upgrade script available because of the major changes (on database level also) of v. 2.0  compared to v.1.2.3. There will be an instruction to (manually) adjust the exported (XML) v. 1.2.3. surveys and reimport them into the 2.0 application. This can be done without too much trouble. We will publish the instruction along with the 2.0 release.

Dear Survey team,

You mentionned that no database conversion tool will be available for version 2.0. I succesfully tested the survey XML conversion procedure for the survey definition. I still have a few questions though:

1. Is there a way to export the survey definition in other languages than the default language and to reimport them in 2.0;

2. As there will not be a database conversion tool, what would be the recommended way to go to keep survey results done in the previous version in 2.0;

I would like to thank you for your time and your excellent work on the survey project.

Kind Regards,

Jerome
